CyberNOS, L.L.C. is a small Information Technology service and consulting company located in East Lansing, Michigan. It has been serving small businesses and professionals with home offices in the Lansing area for 10 years.
The managing member, and principle service provider of CyberNOS is Dr. Stanley C. Mortel, who founded the company in March of 2000. He is personally committed to responsible computing, to the advancement of Open Source Software, and to the notion that all business is conducted between people within a larger social context and is thus always personal.

Cybernos is a member of the Meridian Area Business Association and the Small Business Association of Michigan.
Dr. Mortel became a Microsoft Certified Professional in March of 1999, as a Systems Engineer for Windows NT4. He is an active member of the Greater Lansing Linux Users Group. He is also the Information Technology Office for the Penguicon Board of Directors.

Origin of the Name CyberNOS
"Cyber" comes from cybernetics - the art of communication and control. It also is used as a general reference to computers and the internet.
"NOS" is an acronym for "Network Operating System".
The "O" in NOS is pronounced "aw", as in "boss" or "cross".
